Kanchanaburi on the River Kwai

Kanchanaburi is Thailand’s third biggest province and a gorgeous city centre located about three hours west of Bangkok.  Set on the shores of the beautiful River Kwai, Kanchanaburi has an immense history reflected still in many of its local people and local spots.  Perhaps most well known for its relevance to World War II, (and made famous by movies such as ‘The Bridge Over the River Kwai and more recently ‘The Railway Man’), Kanchanaburi’s history continuously draws many travellers from all over the globe.  It is a place of rich culture and natural charming beauty, a cityscape set beside lush green jungles, incredible waterfalls, and beautiful river views.
